I have known about Collace Quarry for a long time but never visited even in the 1990s. I believe it is owned and run by Tayside Contracts and like Ardownie Quarry now they will not let agate collectors in…so any agates ending up in the crushers.

My pal, Nick Lorimer, in the mid 1990s was able to get permission to go into the quarry but only for a very short period of time.
